Loyalty Pigeon App

The Loyalty Pigeon App can be downloaded from either the Apple App Store to the Google Play Store. Visit either store to learn about the versions available.

User Profile

A user supplies the following information in their profile when using the App

  • First name
  • Last name
  • email address
  • Phone number

Why do we ask for this information?

When you scan a Loyalty Pigeon QR Code in a participating shop, restaurant or other local business you are collect Loyalty Pigeon points. Provided that you have completed and saved your profile in the app then your Loyalty Pigeon points are assigned to your user profile which is held centrally and securely in the Loyalty Pigeon database. We also record the date and time that you scanned the QR Code and the Loyalty Pigeon business within which you scanned it. We require your profile information so that should you later win a Loyalty Pigeon prize either Loyalty Pigeon or the participating business can contact you.

Provided that the participating business has subscribed to the associated Loyalty Pigeon Plan then they get access to analytics about their customers, for example, how many customers visited on a particular day or what time they visited. The information the business sees does NOT identify Loyalty Pigeon users, just that on a particular time and date a customer scanned their QR Code.

If you do not wish to provide the profile information then unfortunately you cannot collect Loyalty Pigeon points.

Test and Protect data

Should a business, such as a restaurant, be required by the  Government because of a pandemic, such as the Corona virus in 2020, to record the date and time of customers visits including their contact information then Loyalty Pigeon can be used to collect this data. In this instance when a user scans the Loyalty Pigeon QR Code for that business they are deemed to have been “marked in” and a “Mark Out” button appears. When the customer leaves the business’ premises then they should press ‘Mark Out’ to record the time they left. Should they forget to mark themselves out then Loyalty Pigeon will automatically mark the time they left as 12 hours from the time they scanned the QR Code i.e. marked themselves in.

Should the business be contacted later by Government officials and asked to provide customer visit data for a particular date and time then the business can extract this information (First name, Last name, email address and phone number) from the Loyalty Pigeon database once they have logged in to confirm their identity.

Loyalty Pigeon refers to this data as “Test and Protect” data as that is the term used in Scotland.

One of the aims of Loyalty Pigeon is to enable business to both collect and provide Test and Protect data efficiently and accurately

Deletion of your data

If for any reason you decide you would like us to remove your data then email info@pigeonpenguin.com and we will delete your data within 30 days (very likely much sooner). Please note that this will remove you from any future Loyalty Pigeon prize draw and should you have already won a prize the participating business may not be able to contact you to inform you.

We may update this policy from time to time so you may want to check it each time you visit our website or use our app. We last reviewed this policy on 1st December 2023.
